40th Anniversary Gala
Get ready for glitz, glamour, and items galore at the BCCA's 40th Anniversary Gala celebration and live auction! You are cordially invited to attend our two-for-one event. Enjoy the camaraderie of friends and view the many wonderful auction treasures, as you begin the evening with live music, cash bar, a sumptuous meal and the sounds of BCCA's own “Three Tenors Who Are Really Baritones.” With original lyrics by Skip Nicholson, the Tenors, who are joined by several guest artists from within our Beardie ranks, sing a special rendition of that Broadway musical hit, My Fair Beardie. You will not want to miss the entertainment! Semi-formal, formal, or period attire in keeping with the musical theme is welcome. The Gala will conclude with a pictorial walk down the BCCA’s Memory Lane. A cash bar with gold standard premium brands precedes the Gala. Entrée choices for the seated dinner include:
- Stuffed Cornish Hen with a bacon demiglace and asparagus, grilled tomatoes and deep fried Roman gnocchi
- Eggplant Milanese served with an artichoke and tomato sauce and penne pasta
- Grilled Salmon Steak on top of okra mashed potatoes, sweet chili sauce and wonton sail
- Braised Leg of Lamb with gravy, ratatouille with corn and gratinated Roman gnocchi
All meals served with fresh baked rolls and butter, Stacy’s salad (spinach, sliced pears, bleu cheese, sun dried cherries, raspberry dressing), Caramel Apple Pie and freshly brewed Starbucks regular or decaffeinated coffee and Tazo tea.

Annual Auction
Following the entertainment and tribute to the BCCA’s 40th Anniversary, the celebration segues into our annual auction, chaired by Susan Lybrand and Joyce Ann Burgett. Everything from memorabilia to contemporary Beardie art is featured in this year's auction. Rumor has it, Uncle Buck is planning to be in attendance — another event that makes this evening one not to miss. We have a team of incredible auctioneers that will be encouraging you all to bid often and bid high, as part of the proceeds of the night benefit BCCA rescue efforts and Beardie health.
In addition to the regular auction, Regional Bearded Collie Clubs are encouraged to enter the Annual Regional Club Auction Challenge which began at the 2007 National. This event, which takes place during the regular auction, showcases some very creative Beardie baskets and items from each of the regions of the country and is a great way for clubs to show their support to BCCA rescue. As a new incentive this year, the four Regional Clubs with the highest amount paid for their entries will also get to keep part of the proceeds.
Donate to the Auction
We're seeking donations of one-of-a-kind items, artworks, memorabilia, etc. for the Auction. You can ship or hand-deliver the items — just be aware of the Important Dates below.
You may bring your item to be donated along with you to the specialty or mail it beforehand. In either case we ask that you please fill out the Auction Donation Form and send it to Carol Sirrine, 5652 Clinton Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55419, by September 2, 2009. We need the description of the donated item so items can be cataloged ahead of time. If you are bringing your item with you, please drop it off at the hospitality room by 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Thanks so much for contributing to the success of the auction and the many programs the proceeds help fund.

We're looking for all types of Beardie-related memorabilia to be part of our BCCA 40th Anniversary display. Contact the 40th Anniversary Gala Chair for more information.
Important Dates to Remember:
- September 2: Reservations for the Gala/Auction due
- September 4: Mailed auction items need to be received by the Auction Chair.
- October 7: Hand-delivered auction items need to be in the Auction Chair's hands by 3 PM.
